About This Shire
The Alpine Shire is located in the north-east part of Victoria and has a population of over 12,000 people. The shire includes the towns of Bright, Dinner Plain, Mount Beauty, Harrietville, Ovens and Myrtleford.
Only 350 km from Melbourne and 450 k from Canberra, the region has many of the Victoria's most beautiful natural attractions. Go for a hike up Mount Bogong (the highest mountain in Victoria), have the ultimate summer alpine adventure at Falls Creek, or sample some of the local finest produce and wares at Pepo Farms, Australia's first and only producers of pumpkin seed products.
