The East Gippsland Shire is located in the eastern part of Victoria and has a population of approximately 45,000. The shire includes the towns of Bairnsdale, Benambra, Bruthen, Buchan, Ensay, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Metung, Omeo, Orbost, Paynesville, Swan Reach and Swifts Creek
Home to Mount Hotham, the giant sand dunes of Thurra River and the magnificent Buchan Caves, the region offers everything from coastal wilderness to snowy river country to alpine high country.
